Bangkok is set to glow with the spirit of India's most celebrated festival as ICONSIAM joins forces with the Indian Association of Thailand (IAT) to present the AMAZING THAILAND GRAND DIWALI FESTIVAL 2026, a spectacular three-day celebration of Diwali, India's Festival of Lights.

Taking place November 6–8, 2026, at River Park, G Floor, ICONSIAM, the riverside festival invites Bangkok residents, expats, and international travelers to discover the beauty of Indian traditions through cultural performances, religious ceremonies, music, food, shopping, and spectacular riverside festivities.

Set against the iconic backdrop of the Chao Phraya River, the event celebrates the longstanding friendship between Thailand and India while showcasing the richness of Indian heritage to a global audience. It also forms part of the celebrations leading up to the 80th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and India in 2027.

The festival is organized by ICONSIAM in collaboration with the Indian Association of Thailand (IAT) and the Thai India Trade and Tourism Association (TITTA), with support from the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the Embassy of India in Thailand, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, and other public- and private-sector partners, as well as members of the Thai-Indian community.

Diwali, widely known as the Festival of Lights, is one of India's most important annual celebrations. Symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil, the festival is traditionally marked by illuminated decorations, prayers, family gatherings, festive food, and the lighting of oil lamps.

At ICONSIAM, these traditions will come to life in a spectacular riverside setting. Visitors can admire an impressive illuminated giant lotus installation, a signature visual highlight inspired by the beauty and symbolism of the festival, while colorful lighting and elaborate Indian-inspired decorations transform River Park into a vibrant celebration space.

Guests will also have the opportunity to pay their respects and seek blessings from Goddess Lakshmi, the Hindu goddess of wealth and prosperity, and Lord Ganesha, the deity associated with wisdom and the removal of obstacles.

As part of the wider Amazing Thailand Grand Diwali Festival 2026, which features seven events across three provinces throughout November, the ICONSIAM celebration further reinforces Thailand's position as an international destination for cultural tourism and ICONSIAM's role as a Global Hub of Culture.

Three Nights of Indian Culture, Bollywood, and Entertainment

Beyond its spectacular setting, the festival offers a vibrant program of activities designed to bring Indian culture closer to audiences of all backgrounds.

Visitors can enjoy traditional Indian cultural performances, exciting Bollywood dance competitions, and the Indian–Thai Got Talent showcase, celebrating the diverse talents of both communities.

For those interested in discovering India's spiritual and cultural traditions, the program also includes Bhajan and Pooja prayer and worship ceremonies, along with a Turban Awareness pavilion where visitors can learn about the traditional art of turban tying and its cultural significance within Sikh and Namdhari communities.

Music lovers can look forward to a special performance by Thai rapper and artist Golf F.HERO on Friday, November 6, from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Known for his multilingual track "Happy Diwali," performed in four languages, he will bring a contemporary Thai-Indian musical touch to the celebration.

Spectacular Bollywood concert performances will also take place throughout the three evenings, adding to the festival's lively atmosphere.

Diwali Night: Traditional Lamp Lighting and Riverside Fireworks

The grand finale takes place on Sunday, November 8, with a special Diwali Lamp Lighting Ceremony from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

This traditional ceremony invites visitors to share in the spirit of Diwali through the symbolic lighting of lamps, celebrating hope, positivity, and the triumph of light.

The evening will also feature a special presentation of Ramayana – Ramakien, performed by the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre of the Embassy of India in Thailand. The performance brings together two closely connected cultural traditions, highlighting the shared heritage and artistic connections between India and Thailand.

The celebrations will culminate in a spectacular fireworks display over the Chao Phraya River at 6:00 PM, creating a memorable finale against one of Bangkok's most iconic waterfront setting.

A Taste of India: Authentic Cuisine and a Cultural Bazaar

No Diwali celebration would be complete without festive food and shopping.

Throughout the event, visitors can explore the Indian Cuisine & Bazaar, featuring authentic Indian dishes representing different regions of the country, alongside a diverse selection of Thai and Indian products.

The marketplace will bring together traditional handicrafts, fashion, clothing, jewelry, and lifestyle products, offering an opportunity to discover India's rich craftsmanship and contemporary creativity while supporting cultural exchange between the two countries.

Whether you're an expat curious about Indian traditions, a food enthusiast looking to explore authentic regional Indian flavors, or a traveler seeking a different side of Bangkok's cultural scene, the festival offers an inviting opportunity to experience the warmth, diversity, and celebratory spirit of India's Festival of Lights.
