A day on the green in Phuket turns into THB 2.4 million in support for life-changing work by Save the Children Thailand and Operation Smile Thailand

What began as a friendly round of golf has grown into one of Marriott Bonvoy Thailand’s most meaningful annual traditions. Following the Marriott Bonvoy Thailand Charity Golf Day 2025, held in Phuket last November, the program has officially donated THB 2.4 million to Save the Children Thailand and Operation Smile Thailand—two organizations dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable children across the country.

The event took place previously on 7 November 2025, at Blue Canyon Country Club, bringing together 160 golfers, business leaders, and hospitality executives for a day that balanced sport with purpose. Among those teeing off was Rajeev Menon, President of Marriott International Asia Pacific excluding Greater China, underscoring the regional significance of the initiative.

A press conference held in early January 2026 marked the formal handover of funds, closing the loop on an event that has steadily grown in scale and impact since its launch in 2022. In just four years, the Marriott Bonvoy Thailand Charity Golf Day has now raised more than THB 10 million for charitable causes.

This year’s beneficiaries were selected for their hands-on, long-term impact. Save the Children Thailand focuses on protecting and supporting disadvantaged children through education, health, and child protection programs, while Operation Smile Thailand provides free corrective surgeries for children born with cleft lips, cleft palates, and other facial conditions—interventions that can be truly life-changing for both children and their families.

Brad Edman, Market Vice President for Thailand, Cambodia, and Myanmar, noted that the event’s success comes from the collective spirit behind it. What started as a single tournament has become a platform that consistently brings people together around a shared goal: doing tangible good within the communities where Marriott operates.

The initiative was created by the Marriott Business Council Thailand and forms part of Marriott International’s broader Serve360 platform, which focuses on social impact and sustainability worldwide. Globally, Marriott Business Councils collaborate with dozens of international nonprofits and hundreds of local charities, grounding global commitments in local action.

Daryn Hudson, Chair of the Thailand and Cambodia Business Council, emphasized that partnerships with organizations like Save the Children Thailand and Operation Smile Thailand ensure that funds raised translate directly into action. For Marriott teams on the ground, the event has become more than a fundraiser—it’s a reminder of how hospitality can extend beyond hotels and into lasting community support.

The Marriott Bonvoy Thailand Charity Golf Day is set to return in November 2026, expanding into a two-day format. If past years are any indication, it will once again prove that a well-played game can go far beyond the fairway.
