Marriott International to Bring Seven New Hotels to Thailand Across Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket

A new agreement with FICO Corporation will add 1,262 rooms and introduce three Marriott brands to Thailand

Thailand's hotel scene is set for another expansion as Marriott International signs an agreement with FICO Corporation to develop seven hotels across Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket, adding a projected 1,262 rooms to the country's hospitality market.
The agreement covers a mix of luxury, lifestyle and more affordable accommodation, reflecting how travelers increasingly look for different experiences depending on the purpose and length of their stay.
Among the highlights are the planned JW Marriott Bangkok Sathorn and the anticipated Thailand debuts of three brands: citizenM, Four Points Flex by Sheraton and Series by Marriott.
Five properties are planned for Bangkok, with the remaining two located in Pattaya and Phuket.
Bangkok: From Luxury Wellness to Smart City Stays
Bangkok accounts for the largest share of the expansion, with five hotels planned across Sathorn, Sukhumvit and Surawong.
JW Marriott Bangkok Sathorn is expected to offer 288 rooms, bringing the brand's luxury hospitality to one of Bangkok's major business and residential districts.
Beyond accommodation, the hotel is planned as an urban lifestyle destination with an emphasis on wellness, sports and fitness facilities. The concept reflects growing interest in hotels that accommodate exercise, recovery and relaxation alongside work and leisure.
In Sukhumvit, citizenM Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 is expected to introduce the Dutch-founded lifestyle hotel brand to Thailand with 147 rooms.
Known for its contemporary design, technology-driven guest experience and efficient use of space, citizenM takes a different approach to the traditional full-service hotel. The Bangkok property is planned to include a food and beverage venue, placing guests close to Sukhumvit's restaurants, nightlife and entertainment.
The arrival of citizenM could be particularly relevant to independent travelers and younger visitors who prioritize location, design and convenience over extensive hotel facilities.

Three Four Points Flex Hotels for Travelers on the Move
Marriott is also preparing to introduce Four Points Flex by Sheraton to Thailand with three properties across Bangkok.
The planned hotels are:
Four Points Flex by Sheraton Bangkok Sukhumvit 8, with 162 rooms.
Four Points Flex by Sheraton Bangkok Sukhumvit 14, with 130 rooms.
Four Points Flex by Sheraton Bangkok Surawong, with 201 rooms.
The brand focuses on the essentials of a comfortable hotel stay, combining practical design, efficiency, reliability and value.
All three properties are planned for locations with convenient access to Bangkok's BTS Skytrain network, making them suitable for travelers who expect to spend much of their time exploring the city rather than remaining at the hotel.
Sukhumvit 8 and Sukhumvit 14 will place guests within Bangkok's central shopping, dining and entertainment districts, while Surawong offers a different urban setting with its historic streets and established commercial character.
For short city breaks, business trips and travelers moving between destinations, these hotels are intended to provide straightforward accommodation without unnecessary extras.
Pattaya and Phuket Welcome Series by Marriott
Beyond Bangkok, the agreement includes two properties under Series by Marriott, one of Marriott International's newer collection brands.
The brand is designed around approachable accommodation that maintains a connection to the character of each destination while offering consistent service standards.
The two planned properties are:
Easy Planet North Pattaya, Series by Marriott, with 192 rooms.
Easy Planet Phuket Patong, Series by Marriott, with 142 rooms.
Both are expected to mark the brand's entry into Thailand.
Pattaya and Phuket remain popular with domestic and international travelers, particularly those looking for beach holidays, entertainment and accessible resort destinations.
The Series by Marriott concept is positioned to appeal to visitors who want dependable accommodation while spending more of their travel budget on dining, activities and exploring their surroundings.

A Wider Range of Hotels for Different Travel Styles
What makes this agreement notable is the variety of accommodation being introduced under one portfolio.
Rather than concentrating solely on luxury resorts or business hotels, Marriott and FICO are targeting several distinct travel segments.
JW Marriott Bangkok Sathorn will emphasize luxury, wellness and urban living. citizenM will introduce a technology-led lifestyle experience, while Four Points Flex by Sheraton focuses on efficiency and value. Series by Marriott will bring a more approachable hotel format to two established beach destinations.
The strategy also reflects a broader shift in how people travel. Some visitors prioritize fitness facilities and lifestyle experiences, while others want a well-located room, convenient transport connections and the flexibility to spend their time outside the hotel.
Krit Srichawla, Chairman of FICO Corporation, sees wellness and lifestyle becoming increasingly important in the hospitality sector.
"As we look ahead, I believe wellness, sports and lifestyle will play an increasingly important role in how people travel and live," he said.
"This expansion gives us the opportunity to bring that thinking into our hospitality portfolio and create experiences that are relevant not only to our guests, but also to the communities around us."
Expanding an Existing Partnership
The agreement builds on an established relationship between Marriott International and FICO Corporation, which already includes four Bangkok hotels:
Hotel Muse Bangkok, Autograph Collection
Marriott Executive Apartments Bangkok Townhall Sukhumvit
Four Points by Sheraton Bangkok Ploenchit Sukhumvit
Metropole Bangkok, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel
With the seven additional properties, the partnership is expected to grow to 11 hotels across eight Marriott brands in Thailand.
Rajeev Menon, President, Asia Pacific excluding China, Marriott International, said the expansion reflects changing expectations among travelers.
"This growing portfolio reflects a shared vision for the future of hospitality – one that embraces evolving traveler preferences, distinctive lifestyle experiences and destinations designed for holistic wellbeing and meaningful connection."
For travelers planning future trips to Thailand, the development promises more accommodation choices across three of the country's best-known destinations, from design-focused city hotels in Bangkok to practical stays in Pattaya and Phuket.
The seven properties have been announced through a signing agreement, with opening dates yet to be confirmed.
