Siam Piwat and Alipay+ are taking Thailand's digital tourism landscape to the next level with an expanded partnership designed to make travel, shopping, and payments easier for international visitors. As more travelers across Asia embrace cashless lifestyles, the collaboration aims to deliver a seamless payment experience while attracting a new generation of high-value tourists to Thailand.

The initiative brings together Siam Piwat, Thailand's leading developer of global destinations, and Alipay+, Ant International's cross-border digital payment and marketing platform. Together, they are focusing on travelers from across Asia—particularly non-Chinese visitors from Vietnam, South Korea, Singapore, and Malaysia—who increasingly expect to pay abroad using the same mobile wallets and banking apps they rely on at home.

The partnership reflects a broader shift in travel behavior, where convenience extends beyond transportation and accommodation to every touchpoint of the visitor journey. By integrating multiple international digital wallets through a single payment ecosystem, Siam Piwat enables visitors to enjoy frictionless shopping at its flagship destinations without the need to exchange cash or download unfamiliar payment applications.

According to Tanavan Arkaleephan, Assistant Managing Director of Tourism Management at Siam Piwat Co., Ltd., the company's shopping destinations continue to attract discerning travelers seeking premium retail, dining, and lifestyle experiences. The expanded collaboration with Alipay+ allows merchants within Siam Piwat's ecosystem to connect with a wide network of mobile wallets, digital banking applications, and payment providers across Asia through a single integration, making cross-border spending more convenient for visitors and businesses alike.

One of the partnership's key priorities is Vietnam, one of Asia's fastest-growing digital payment markets. Through Alipay+'s integration with popular Vietnamese payment platforms such as MoMo, ZaloPay, and Vietcombank, Thai retailers will be better positioned to welcome the country's growing number of outbound travelers.

Beyond payments, the collaboration also leverages Alipay+'s broader ecosystem, combining digital payments with marketing capabilities and AI-powered solutions to create more personalized experiences for travelers. By analyzing anonymized consumer insights such as nationality, preferred digital wallet, spending behavior, and shopping categories, both organizations aim to develop more relevant promotions and tailored offers for different visitor segments.

The strategy reflects the growing importance of data-driven tourism, where destinations can better anticipate traveler preferences while enhancing customer satisfaction and encouraging higher spending.

The partnership builds on a successful relationship that began in 2018. Over the past eight years, Siam Piwat and Alipay+ have jointly launched marketing campaigns and exclusive privileges designed to enhance the travel experience for international visitors. While Chinese travelers remain an important customer base, the latest expansion signals a deliberate move toward capturing broader growth opportunities across the Asia-Pacific region.

The results have already been significant. Between January and May 2026, spending through Alipay+ across Siam Piwat's shopping centers nearly doubled compared with the same period last year. During the same period, both transaction volume and the number of active users increased 2.7 times year-on-year, demonstrating growing confidence among international visitors using digital payment platforms while traveling in Thailand.

Among Siam Piwat's portfolio, ICONSIAM and Siam Paragon continue to lead as the preferred destinations for overseas visitors. Their combination of luxury shopping, world-class dining, cultural attractions, and experiential retail has reinforced their reputation as two of Thailand's most recognized lifestyle destinations.

As international travel continues to recover and digital payments become the preferred choice for global travelers, collaborations such as this are expected to play an increasingly important role in shaping the future of tourism. By combining innovative payment technology with premium retail experiences, Siam Piwat and Alipay+ are helping position Thailand as one of Asia's leading destinations for digitally connected, high-value travelers.
