From espresso heritage to Thai farm-to-cup stories, this city-center festival turns coffee into a cultural experience

NEXTOPIA Local Harvest Coffee Fest 2026

Bangkok’s ever-evolving coffee scene is getting a thoughtful, globally inspired upgrade this season. At the heart of Siam Paragon, the NEXTOPIA Local Harvest Coffee Fest 2026 invites city dwellers, curious travelers, and serious caffeine lovers to rethink what a cup of coffee can represent, not just as a daily ritual, but as culture, craft, and community.

Running from Wednesday, 23 April 2026 to Tuesday, 12 May 2026 at NEXTOPIA on the 5th floor, the festival blends Italian coffee heritage with Thailand’s growing movement toward sustainable, locally sourced beans. The result is an experience that feels equal parts European café culture and Thai community marketplace.

A Sip of Italy: When Coffee Becomes Culture

One of the festival’s defining highlights is its collaboration with the Embassy of Italy and the Istituto Italiano di Cultura Bangkok. Together, they bring a refined yet accessible look at how coffee has shaped Italian identity.

The Italian Passion: The Art of Espresso Exhibition makes its Asia debut here, showcasing a rare collection of espresso machines that trace the evolution of coffee craftsmanship through design. It is a visual journey through time, from vintage engineering marvels to modern icons, all telling the story of how espresso became an art form.

Across the venue, Italian coffee is also reimagined through food. A lineup of collaborative menus sees Italian chefs partnering with NEXTOPIA’s restaurants, infusing coffee into both sweet and savory dishes. Expect creative interpretations at Dean and Deluca, Fallabella Little Sister Kitchen, Fatt Chicken and Slim Pig, Fikka, Gelateria Kitokki, Hopsy Story and Nicolo, where coffee moves beyond the cup and onto the plate.

For those who like their coffee with conversation, expert-led talks explore everything from traditional Italian brewing rituals to global coffee trends shaping the future.

Coffee, But Make It Playful

This is not a festival that takes itself too seriously. Alongside its cultural depth, there is a playful, family-friendly side that keeps things lively.

Creative workshops by Bimbi Italiani invite younger visitors and curious adults into hands-on experiences, while a quirky latte art fortune-telling session with Ajarn Tong adds a distinctly Thai twist to the coffee narrative.

Mark your calendar for Wednesday, 30 April 2026, when coffee meets music for International Jazz Day. A live performance by Bruno Brugnano and Bangkok New Trio transforms the space into a relaxed café-style jazz lounge, a reminder that coffee culture has always been intertwined with art, rhythm, and social connection. Another standout is the From Coffee to Creativity – A Family Experience on Friday, 25 April 2026, designed to bring families together through shared creative moments.

From Farm to Cup: Thailand’s Coffee Story

Beyond the Italian flair, the festival grounds itself in something more meaningful, Thailand’s own coffee-growing communities.

The Local Harvest Coffee Market spotlights ethically sourced beans from across the country, promoting fair trade and direct relationships between farmers and consumers. It is a chance to taste the diversity of Thai coffee, from highland-grown varieties to small-batch artisanal roasts, all while supporting environmentally conscious farming practices.

Leading cafés at NEXTOPIA including A Keen, Dean and Deluca, Dots Coffee, Fikka, Nicolo and SC All Day Morning Cafe further elevate the experience with exclusive menus crafted for the festival.

Highlights include the Italian Passion: The Art of Espresso Exhibition, exclusive coffee-inspired menus across participating restaurants, expert talks on Italian coffee culture and global trends, family workshops and latte art experiences, From Coffee to Creativity on Friday, 25 April 2026, International Jazz Day live performance on Wednesday, 30 April 2026, and both the A Sip of Italy Market and Local Harvest Coffee Market.

Why This Coffee Festival Matters

At its core, NEXTOPIA Local Harvest Coffee Fest 2026 is about redefining how we engage with coffee. It is about understanding where it comes from, appreciating the craftsmanship behind it, and recognizing the communities that make it possible.
