Bangkok’s wellness culture is evolving far beyond boutique gyms and casual weekend runs. A new wave of fitness enthusiasts is now embracing HYROX, the global fitness race that blends endurance running with functional strength training, and local fitness studio BASE is betting big on the movement with the launch of its new 12 Weeks to HYROX program ahead of HYROX Bangkok this August.

Running from Friday, 22 May 2026 to Thursday, 13 August 2026, the HYROX-focused program is designed for participants across all fitness levels, from first-time HYROX racers looking for motivation to seasoned competitors aiming to improve performance and endurance.

Originally launched in Germany, HYROX has rapidly become one of the world’s fastest-growing wellness and fitness competitions thanks to its accessible format and strong community-driven atmosphere. Unlike traditional marathons or niche athletic events, HYROX combines running intervals with functional workout stations in a way that feels challenging yet approachable for everyday fitness enthusiasts.

According to BASE Founder and CEO Jack Thomas, the appeal of HYROX lies in the balance between intensity and inclusivity.

“HYROX continues to grow rapidly because it brings together two major fitness trends, running and functional training, in a way that’s accessible, inclusive, and community-driven,” Thomas said. “The format is simple and approachable, yet still challenging, with entry points like relay races making it easy for anyone to get involved."

“Combined with a strong event atmosphere and a relatable narrative, HYROX Bangkok is a race that people genuinely believe they can do, and that’s what makes it so powerful,” he added.

That shift reflects a broader transformation happening within the wellness industry itself. Increasingly, people are seeking experiences that combine physical challenge with social connection and measurable personal growth rather than simply working out for aesthetics alone.

BASE’s new HYROX training program taps directly into that mindset through a structured mix of HIIT, strength training, endurance preparation, and HYROX race simulations. Participants receive unlimited access to all BASE classes, allowing them to build consistency while improving strength, stamina, and race-day confidence over the course of 12 weeks.

The program also includes a HYROX Preparation Seminar led by Coach Tommy, a top-three finisher in multiple HYROX races across Asia, offering insights into pacing strategies, performance optimization, and race preparation.

For those wanting a more tailored HYROX training approach, BASE has assembled a team of dedicated coaches including Tommy, Kie, Ohm, Justin, and Ari, with participants matched according to their individual goals, fitness level, and race-day ambitions.

Another major draw is the growing sense of community surrounding HYROX itself.

Unlike highly specialized athletic competitions that can feel intimidating to newcomers, HYROX has built a reputation for creating an encouraging environment where beginners and experienced athletes compete side by side.

That accessibility has helped fuel HYROX’s explosive global rise, particularly in cities like Bangkok where wellness increasingly overlaps with lifestyle, social culture, and personal identity.

Established in 2016, BASE Bangkok has become one of the city’s best-known fitness brands, with studios in Sathorn, Amarin, and Langsuan. The studio has earned multiple industry recognitions including Asia Gym of the Year and Bangkok’s Best Studio awards, while building a reputation for combining international-standard coaching with technology-driven performance tracking.

The next HYROX Bangkok event takes place from 13–16 August 2026, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC). Registration opens on 21 May 2026.
