Iris & Wild Iris Opens at SO/ Bangkok, Bringing Southern Italian Dining to the Rooftop

A new Riviera-inspired rooftop at SO/ Bangkok combines Southern Italian cuisine, aperitivo culture, and late-night energy across three interconnected spaces overlooking Lumphini Park

A new rooftop concept has opened at SO/ Bangkok, positioning itself as a hybrid dining and nightlife destination rather than a conventional sky bar. Iris & Wild Iris spans the 29th and 30th floors of the hotel, with a layout designed to move guests from dinner into drinks and, eventually, a more energetic late-night setting.

The venue is split into three distinct but connected areas. Iris serves as the main dining room, set in a glasshouse-style space on the 29th floor. One level up, Iris Terrace opens out to views over Lumphini Park, geared toward sunset dining and aperitivo. Back on the 29th floor, Wild Iris functions as the bar component, with DJs taking over as the evening progresses.

The kitchen is led by Sicilian chef Enrico Pantorno, whose background includes stints across Europe, the UAE, and Thailand. His menu focuses on Southern Italian cooking, with an emphasis on citrus, seafood, and pasta. Dishes are positioned for sharing, with a mix of crudo-style preparations and more substantial plates, reflecting a style that leans toward ingredient clarity rather than heavy reinterpretation.

On the drinks side, the bar follows a Southern European aperitivo approach, built around citrus-forward, botanical, and bittersweet profiles. The cocktail list sits alongside a program designed to transition with the evening, starting lighter at sunset and moving into more classic and spirit-driven options later on.

Design plays a central role in how the space functions. Soft curves, warm-toned materials, and layered lighting are used to shift the mood gradually from early evening to late night. The intent is less about a single dining moment and more about pacing the experience across several hours, something still relatively uncommon among Bangkok rooftops, which often focus on either dining or drinks, but not both.

Iris & Wild Iris is now open daily, targeting both hotel guests and city diners looking for a rooftop that offers more than just a view.
