Maldives Dining Goes Off-Menu at CROSSROADS

From Sri Lankan mud crab to Japanese, Thai and Levantine flavors, CROSSROADS Maldives is positioning its marina as a dining destination in its own right

For many travelers, a Maldives holiday revolves around overwater villas, turquoise lagoons and long days on the beach. At CROSSROADS Maldives, food is becoming another reason to make the trip.
Located just a 15-minute complimentary boat ride from Malé and Velana International Airport, The Marina @ CROSSROADS brings together 12 restaurants and bars alongside three resorts: SAii Lagoon Maldives, Hard Rock Hotel Maldives and SO/ Maldives. The result is an unusually broad dining landscape for a destination often associated with staying and eating within a single resort.

A Progressive Dinner Across the Maldives
Among the strongest draws is a trio of restaurants by chef Dharshan Munidasa. Ministry of Crab and Nihonbashi Blue are the only Sri Lankan restaurants to have appeared on the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list, while Carne Diem Grill by Dharshan was featured on the 50 Best Discovery 2026 list.
Guests can experience all three through a progressive dinner that moves from a signature starter at Nihonbashi Blue to Sri Lankan Mud Crab at Ministry of Crab, before finishing with dessert at Carne Diem Grill.
The wider collection stretches across Thai, Cantonese, Indian and Japanese cuisines, while Hard Rock Cafe adds American favorites and live music.

Levantine Flavors at SO/ Maldives
From Thursday 1 October 2026, guests staying at SAii Lagoon Maldives and Hard Rock Hotel Maldives can also take a complimentary shuttle boat to Hadaba at SO/ Maldives.
The oceanfront restaurant serves Levant-inspired food against a sunset setting and has been named Maldives’ Best Hotel Restaurant by the World Culinary Awards. Its addition gives travelers another option for dining across the wider CROSSROADS destination rather than remaining at their own resort throughout their stay.

Sunset Drinks and a New Social Club
The dining experience extends beyond restaurants. On Thursday 24 September 2026, SunRay Maldives officially opens as a new oceanfront social and swim club, combining daytime gatherings and programming with sunset socializing.
Together with The Marina’s restaurants and bars, it gives visitors options that move from lunch and afternoon drinks to sunset cocktails, dinner and late-night entertainment without leaving the destination.

Dining in the Maldives Without Staying Overnight
CROSSROADS Maldives is not limited to overnight guests. The Marina welcomes day visitors, with complimentary scheduled boat transfers operating throughout the day from Malé and the airport.
That accessibility makes it possible to approach CROSSROADS as a dining excursion in the Maldives: arrive for lunch, move between restaurants and bars, stay for sunset and dinner, and return without booking a room.
For travelers who want their Maldives experience to extend beyond the familiar formula of beach, villa and resort buffet, CROSSROADS offers another possibility: an island escape where deciding where to eat next becomes part of the itinerary.
