MFA Boston Bangkok Pop-Up Brings World-Class Art to Ari

The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston brings masterpieces to Bangkok through an immersive café experience

For one month only, Donut Disturb in Ari is offering something few places in Bangkok can claim: the chance to sip tea inspired by Claude Monet, bite into a donut inspired by Katsushika Hokusai, and browse lifestyle collectibles featuring works from one of America's most celebrated art museums. The MFA Boston Bangkok collaboration transforms Donut Disturb into an immersive pop-up where art, food, and philanthropy come together in a distinctly Bangkok setting.

Running from 5 August to 5 September 2026, the collaboration marks the first partnership in Thailand between the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and the Ramathibodi Foundation. Rather than presenting masterpieces inside a traditional gallery, the project reimagines art as part of everyday life through café culture, thoughtfully designed merchandise, and experiences that support a charitable cause.

A Pop-Up Gallery in the Heart of Ari

Donut Disturb Bangkok at Gump's Ari has been transformed into a gallery-inspired space showcasing works by some of history's most influential artists. Visitors can immerse themselves in reproductions inspired by Vincent van Gogh, Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Pablo Picasso, Edgar Degas, Winslow Homer, Frank Weston Benson, and Katsushika Hokusai while enjoying coffee and pastries in a relaxed setting.

The concept reflects a growing trend in Bangkok where cafés have evolved into creative destinations, blending art, design, and hospitality into experiences that encourage visitors to linger.

Taste the World's Greatest Paintings

One of the biggest draws is an exclusive menu inspired by iconic artworks. The Pistachio Lotus Cream donut takes its cue from Monet's The Water Lily Pond, combining delicate pink lotus cream with crunchy pistachios. The Matcha Mochi Seasalt donut references Hokusai's Under the Wave off Kanagawa, pairing earthy matcha with chewy mochi and sea salt. Meanwhile, the Lemon Blueberry Cream donut echoes the vibrant colors of Van Gogh's Houses at Auvers through bright citrus and blueberry flavors.

The drinks continue the artistic journey. Saint-Rémy Sky combines roasted rice tea with butterfly pea foam to evoke Van Gogh's sweeping skies, while Water Lily Tea recreates the tranquil atmosphere of Monet's famous garden through delicate floral notes.

Together, the menu offers a playful way to experience art through taste, color, and storytelling.

The collaboration also introduces a collection of limited-edition lifestyle merchandise featuring artworks from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

The range includes tote bags, mugs, tumblers, notebooks, cushions, umbrellas, and T-shirts designed to bring museum-quality art into everyday life. New collections will be released each month through December 2026. July's Human Landscape: Portraits of Presence celebrates portraiture through works by Vincent van Gogh, Paul Cézanne, and Camille Pissarro, while August's Open Horizons: Views of Nature explores landscapes by Edgar Degas, Edward Hopper, Winslow Homer, Katsushika Hokusai, and Maurice Brazil Prendergast.
