One of only six hotels in Thailand to hold the highest MICHELIN honor, the Krabi resort also tops Condé Nast Traveller’s Best Resort rankings

In a year defined by intense scrutiny and global competition, Phulay Bay, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve has once again affirmed its place at the very top of luxury hospitality. The secluded seafront resort in Krabi has retained its coveted 3 MICHELIN Key distinction for the second consecutive year, placing it among a select group of just six properties in Thailand to achieve the guide’s highest recognition.

Announced in October 2025, the second annual MICHELIN Key awards followed extensive evaluations by MICHELIN inspectors, assessing hotels on experience, service, design, and overall sense of place. Of the six Thai properties awarded 3 Keys, only three are beach resorts, and Phulay Bay stands alone as the sole representative from Krabi.

In its 2025 guide, MICHELIN praised the resort for pairing uncompromising luxury with a strong sense of Southern Thai identity. From the dramatic arrival pavilion and locally inspired villas to panoramic Andaman Sea views, inspectors highlighted how the experience feels both grand and deeply rooted. Dining also played a key role in the assessment, with MICHELIN noting the range of restaurants offering everything from fresh local seafood and Thai classics to refined Mediterranean dishes, alongside an expansive spa designed as an integral part of the stay rather than an add-on.

The MICHELIN recognition arrives alongside another major international endorsement. At the 2025 Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards, Phulay Bay was voted the number one Best Resort in Thailand by readers of Condé Nast Traveller UK, and ranked among the top ten Best Resorts in the World by Condé Nast Traveler USA. Voted entirely by readers, the awards reflect the opinions of seasoned global travelers who place equal value on atmosphere, service, and emotional connection.

For General Manager Vidya Sagar, the dual recognition speaks to the people behind the experience. He credits the resort’s Ladies and Gentlemen for crafting highly personalized journeys that resonate with guests long after they leave. He also points to what’s ahead, with renewed energy around dining and social spaces, including the transformation of Sri Trang, the resort’s Thai restaurant, and the upcoming opening of Pirom Bar later in October.

In an increasingly crowded luxury landscape, Phulay Bay’s continued presence at the top underscores a clear message: true distinction comes not from novelty alone, but from consistency, craft, and a deep understanding of place.
