From Bangkok's flower markets and Pattaya's coastal communities to Koh Samui's creative heritage and Phuket's hidden cultural gems, Renaissance Hotels introduces a new way to experience Thailand after dark through its Evenings at Renaissance beverage rituals

Travel is about more than visiting famous landmarks. Sometimes, the most memorable experiences happen when you wander through a local market, discover a neighborhood favorite, meet the people behind traditional crafts, or settle in for a drink inspired by the destination itself.

Bringing this spirit of discovery to life, Renaissance Hotels, part of Marriott Bonvoy's global portfolio of more than 30 hotel brands, is introducing a refreshed collection of Evenings at Renaissance beverage rituals across Asia Pacific excluding China (APEC). Developed in collaboration with award-winning Indonesian bartender Demitria "Demi" Dana Paramita, the collection reimagines local ingredients, cultural traditions, and familiar flavors through a contemporary mixology approach.

Making its debut during Renaissance Day of Discovery 2026, the collection invites travelers to explore destinations through their local character, creative communities, and after-dark culture. Under this year's theme, "Layers of Discovery," participating Renaissance hotels across the region will host immersive experiences throughout October and November, bringing guests closer to the stories and traditions that make each neighborhood unique.

In Thailand, four Renaissance properties in Bangkok, Pattaya, Koh Samui, and Phuket are taking the concept a step further, combining locally inspired drinks with guided neighborhood explorations, cultural workshops, culinary collaborations, and memorable evening gatherings.

A New Way to Experience a Destination, One Drink at a Time

At the heart of Evenings at Renaissance is the belief that a great drink can tell a story about the place where it is created.

Designed to mark the transition from day to evening, the new beverage rituals transform familiar local ingredients and cultural references into distinctive drinking experiences. From aromatic botanicals and tropical fruits to traditional recipes and regional flavors, each creation offers a different perspective on its destination.

For this collection, Renaissance Hotels partnered with its first Beverage Rituals Ambassador, Demitria "Demi" Dana Paramita, the award-winning founder of HATS Bar Jakarta. Drawing inspiration from her Sumatran heritage and experience in Southeast Asia's dynamic bar scene, Demi worked with the brand to develop drinks that reinterpret local traditions in unexpected ways.

Among the highlights are Blooming Flower, an interactive floral punch featuring a shared citrus jelly ritual; The Night Market, a vibrant combination of pandan, calamansi, and tamarind inspired by the energy of Asian neighborhoods after dark; and Silk Road, an aromatic blend of tea, saffron, and spices celebrating the exchange of flavors and traditions across cultures.

The collection also features Tropical Silk, a fruit-forward combination of passion fruit, lychee, and tea, alongside Remedy, inspired by traditional recipes associated with comfort and care, featuring house-made fruit preserves that reflect local tastes.

"At Renaissance Hotels, we believe the most memorable discoveries happen when guests connect with the character of a destination in unexpected ways," said Cristiano Rinaldi, Chief Lodging Product & Services Officer, Asia Pacific excluding China, Marriott International. "The evolution of Evenings at Renaissance brings neighborhood stories to life through the flavors and traditions that shape each destination.

Demi's ability to reinterpret familiar ingredients and cultural rituals through a contemporary lens reflects the spirit of Renaissance Hotels, creating new opportunities for guests to discover the neighborhood and the people behind it."

Four Ways to Discover a Different Side of Thailand

For travelers looking to explore Thailand beyond its familiar attractions, Renaissance Day of Discovery 2026 offers four distinct experiences, each inspired by the character, creativity, and local culture of its destination.

Bangkok: Unfold the City's Stories Through Its Flower Markets

Bangkok is a city that never stops revealing something new. Beyond its celebrated shopping districts and buzzing nightlife lies a world of traditional flower markets, neighborhood communities, and local gardens that offer a more intimate look at the Thai capital.

At Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong Hotel, the "Unfold Bangkok" experience invites guests to discover this side of the city through a series of Navigator-led neighborhood walks. The journey includes visits to Bang Mod Gardens, Yodipman Flower Market, and Pak Khlong Talat, Bangkok's iconic flower market, where the vibrant colors, fragrances, and everyday rhythms of local life offer plenty of inspiration.

As evening arrives, the experience continues at R Bar, where guests can enjoy four specially created beverage rituals inspired by Bangkok's flower markets and local ingredients. The collection includes revitalizing cocktails and punch-style mocktails, translating the spirit of the city into creative drinks.

It's an invitation to experience Bangkok through a different lens, moving from the energy of its markets by day to the creativity of its cocktail culture by night.

Pattaya: Discover Coastal Communities Beyond the Beach

Renaissance Pattaya Resort & Spa | November 1–2, 2026

For those who know Pattaya primarily for its lively beachfront and entertainment scene, the surrounding Eastern Seaboard offers another side worth exploring.

At Renaissance Pattaya Resort & Spa, the "Beyond the Horizon" experience takes guests beyond the resort and into the coastal community of Bangsaray and the cultural village of Thai Thani. Led by the hotel's Navigator team, the two-day program offers opportunities to discover local traditions and participate in hands-on cultural workshops.

Back at the resort, the first evening brings a nautical-inspired "Discovery Sunset" celebration at The Deck, complete with a fire dance performance and live music. The following morning, guests can continue their experience with an auspicious alms-giving ceremony, a yoga session, and a recycling workshop.

Combining coastal exploration, cultural encounters, and mindful activities, the experience offers a refreshing perspective on Thailand's Eastern Seaboard.

Koh Samui: Explore the Island Through Craft, Culture, and Creativity

Renaissance Koh Samui Resort & Spa | November 1, 2026

Beyond its palm-fringed beaches and beautiful tropical scenery, Koh Samui has a fascinating cultural identity shaped by Thai, Chinese, and local island traditions.

The "Craft & Culture" experience at Renaissance Koh Samui Resort & Spa takes curious travelers on a full-day exploration of the island's lesser-known attractions, guided by the resort's Navigators.

The itinerary includes Wat Sila Ngu, a distinctive red-clay temple; Guan Yu Shrine, which reflects the island's Chinese-Thai heritage; and Samui Handicraft OTOP Place, where visitors can discover traditional coconut craftsmanship through a live demonstration.

The journey also includes House of Lucie, a creative space showcasing photography, art, and independent storytelling, offering a glimpse into the island's contemporary creative community.

After a day of cultural discoveries, guests can return to the resort's Lotus Room for an evening celebration featuring locally inspired beverages, street food collaborations, and live music.

It's a chance to experience Koh Samui beyond the beach, connecting with the island's heritage, craftsmanship, and evolving creative scene.

Phuket: Uncover Local Traditions and the Island's Hidden Gems

Renaissance Phuket Resort & Spa | November 7–8, 2026

Phuket may be famous for its spectacular beaches and turquoise waters, but some of its most compelling stories can be found in its local communities and centuries-old traditions.

At Renaissance Phuket Resort & Spa, located along the tranquil stretch of Mai Khao Beach, "Discover Phuket's Hidden Gem" invites guests to look beyond the coastline and explore the island's cultural heritage.

A highlight is the Asam Gelugur Kamala community experience, which introduces visitors to a treasured local ingredient known as "som-khwai." Guests can meet local farmers, learn about the ingredient's significance in community life, and discover traditional tea-making practices.

The experience also features a revitalizing punch bowl ritual, a visit to a vibrant Phuket market, and an introduction to Nang Talung, the traditional Southern Thai art of shadow puppetry. This centuries-old performance tradition offers a fascinating glimpse into the storytelling and artistic heritage of the region.

For travelers interested in discovering a more authentic side of Phuket, this experience brings together local flavors, community connections, and cultural traditions in one memorable journey.

Let the Evening Become Part of the Journey

With its refreshed Evenings at Renaissance collection, Renaissance Hotels is reimagining the role of the hotel bar as more than simply a place to unwind. It becomes a starting point for discovering the neighborhood, connecting with local culture, and experiencing the creative spirit of each destination.

Whether exploring Bangkok's flower markets, meeting coastal communities in Pattaya, discovering traditional craftsmanship in Koh Samui, or uncovering Phuket's cultural heritage, guests are invited to experience Thailand through a more personal and meaningful lens.

Because sometimes, the best way to discover a destination is to stay a little longer, look a little closer, and let the evening tell its own story.
