From London’s most celebrated girls’ school to a new educational landmark in Thailand

In a city where international schools are as competitive as the skyline is tall, SPGS International School Bangkok is poised to shift the conversation entirely. Opening in August 2026, the school represents the second international branch of the prestigious St Paul’s Girls’ School, bringing 120 years of British academic excellence from London to the heart of Bangkok. For families who have long looked overseas for elite education, this moment feels quietly historic.

A Pedigree That Speaks for Itself
Ranked number one in the UK for academic excellence in 13 of the past 14 years, St Paul’s Girls’ School has built a reputation that extends far beyond London. Its results are formidable: 92 percent of students receive offers from the world’s top 100 universities, while 54 percent secure places at Oxford, Cambridge, and Ivy League institutions. GCSE performance is equally striking, with over 99 percent of grades awarded at 9–7, equivalent to A*–A.
Now, that same academic DNA will shape SPGS International School Bangkok. But this is not a franchise copy. It is an extension of ethos.
Ms. Liz Hewer, High Mistress of St Paul’s Girls’ School in London, has emphasized that the Bangkok campus will align fully with the pedagogy and values of its London flagship. At the helm locally is Founding Headmaster Mr. Leigh O’Hara, who spent 11 years as Deputy Head and Director of School in London. His leadership signals continuity, credibility, and ambition.
A New Educational Epicenter for Southeast Asia
SPGS International School Bangkok will welcome boys and girls aged 2 to 18. For the 2026/2027 academic year, enrollment opens from Pre-Nursery to Year 6, with the Senior School launching in 2027/2028.
The curriculum follows an enhanced English National Curriculum and the IBDP, combining traditional academic rigor with future-focused innovation. A defining feature will be the introduction of School Directed Courses at Key Stage 4, developed in-house by St Paul’s Girls’ School London. Bangkok will be the only place in the world outside London to offer these specialized courses in Creative Technology, Computer Science, Drama, Music, and Art. For Bangkok’s globally minded families, this means access to an educational model previously available only in one of the UK’s most elite academic circles.

Where Learning Meets Lifestyle
Located within a THB 14.4 billion mixed-use development by Country Group Development on Rama 3 Road, SPGS International School Bangkok integrates elite education into a luxury residential environment. It reflects a growing trend in Bangkok: education as a cornerstone of lifestyle planning.
CEO Mr. Ben Taechaubol describes the vision as offering something “truly distinctive” within Bangkok’s already vibrant international school landscape. The goal is not only academic accomplishment, but strength of character, independence of thought, and resilience in a complex world. This is education designed for modern global citizens.
Beyond the Classroom
True to the St Paul’s philosophy that learning must be both intellectually challenging and deeply meaningful, the Bangkok campus has been designed as a space where curiosity thrives. Facilities will accommodate over 1,800 students and include:
A 600-seat auditorium and black box theater
A professional recording studio
An indoor swimming pool
A skyline football pitch and covered tennis courts
A Centre for Design & Innovation
Dedicated wellbeing centers
A Forest School for outdoor learning
The result is a campus that feels less like a traditional institution and more like a dynamic ecosystem of ideas, creativity, and wellbeing.
An Education Rich in Meaning and Possibility
At its core, SPGS International School Bangkok is anchored in a belief that education must shape not only intellect, but identity. Debate, inquiry, collaboration, and creativity form the backbone of the classroom experience. Students are encouraged to question, explore, and discover their own voice.
In an era when parents are increasingly focused on holistic growth rather than test scores alone, the school’s blend of academic excellence, pastoral care, and innovation positions it uniquely within Thailand’s education landscape.
For Bangkok’s internationally oriented families, the arrival of SPGS International School Bangkok is more than a new campus opening. It signals a recalibration of what world-class education can look like at home.
