The Thai hospitality giant secures Michelin Keys for its hotels and a historic Star for its Italian dining, while its culinary alumni sweep awards from Bangkok to London

Dusit International is spotlighting a unique trifecta of recognition in the world of fine dining and hospitality this month. The Bangkok-based property developer and hotel operator recently highlighted a rare convergence of Michelin recognition that spans its entire ecosystem: its luxury hotels, its in-house restaurants, and the roster of star chefs who trained at its educational institutions.
While individual awards have been announced previously, the collective achievement underscores the brand's long-term strategy of integrating guest experiences with deep-rooted culinary education.
Leading the charge for the group’s in-house dining is Cannubi by Umberto Bombana at the Dusit Thani Bangkok. The venue was recently awarded one Michelin Star, marking a significant milestone as the first Italian restaurant in Thailand to receive the distinction.
The group’s hospitality arm also saw success with the new Michelin Key distinction. In 2025, three properties: Dusit Thani Bangkok, Dusit Thani Kyoto, and Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu, were each awarded one Michelin Key, recognizing them for design integrity and exceptional guest experiences.
Perhaps the most striking aspect of Dusit's recent highlight is the success of its alumni. Graduates from Dusit Thani College and Le Cordon Bleu Dusit – Culinary Arts School have secured significant real estate in the latest Michelin Guide.
Prominent alumni recognized in the guide include Chef Pichaya ‘Pam’ Soontornyanakij, named The World’s Best Female Chef 2025, who retained a Michelin Star for her restaurant POTONG. Chef Sittikorn ‘Au’ Chantop of AKKEE received one Michelin Star for the second consecutive year. Chef Parkorn ‘Tan’ Kosiyabong saw his restaurant, GOAT Bangkok, secure both a Michelin Star and a Michelin Green Star for sustainable practices. Taking the legacy international, Chef John Chantarasak earned a Michelin Star for AngloThai in London, noted for his inventive British interpretation of Thai flavors.
Regionally, alumni Chef Sirorat ‘Fay’ Thowtho of MOK and Chef Nitinan ‘New’ Mangkala of AGAVE in Ubon Ratchathani were awarded the Bib Gourmand for high-quality, high-value cooking.

Chanin Donavanik, Group CEO of Dusit International, noted that these accolades reflect an approach built on care, craft, and continuity. He stated that they speak to the belief that Thai-inspired gracious hospitality extends beyond the guest experience, shaping standards, skills, and the foundations on which talent can continue to grow across the industry.
The group continues to expand its educational footprint through The Food School Bangkok, a collaboration with ALMA (The School of Italian Culinary Arts) and the Tsuji Culinary Institute, designed to support both new entrepreneurs and experienced industry practitioners.
