RBSO honors the enduring legacy of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, through a moving program of Romantic masterpieces

The Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra Foundation presents an evening shaped by gratitude, memory, and quiet reverence. Held in remembrance of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, the concert reflects a life devoted to the well being of the Thai people and to the preservation of culture, environment, and traditional wisdom that continue to define Thailand today.
Organized under the patronage of Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya, the performance is a collaboration between the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra Foundation, the Department of Cultural Promotion under the Ministry of Culture, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with support from B.Grimm. Together, they come together to honor a legacy marked by compassion, grace, and enduring cultural stewardship.

On Friday 30 January 2026 at 7:30 PM, the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra welcomes acclaimed Romanian pianist Daniel Ciobanu, celebrated for his poetic sensitivity and commanding technique. He is joined by guest conductor Sander Teepen for a program that speaks directly to the heart.
The evening opens with Edvard Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A minor, the composer’s only concerto and a cornerstone of the Romantic repertoire. Lyrical, dramatic, and deeply expressive, the work balances virtuosity with an unmistakable sense of longing and warmth. It is followed by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6 Pathétique, a profoundly emotional final symphony that journeys through love, hope, vulnerability, and farewell.
Presented at the Main Hall of the Thailand Cultural Centre, the two works come together as a thoughtful musical tribute. Their emotional depth mirrors the boundless compassion and moral strength of Her Majesty, qualities that continue to resonate in the collective memory of the nation.
