The iconic Thai lifestyle brand partners with the Tourism Authority of Thailand to reinterpret the spirit of Siam through craftsmanship and meaningful travel experiences

For 75 years, Jim Thompson has been synonymous with Thai silk. Yet today, the brand represents something far broader than textiles. It has evolved into a global lifestyle name encompassing fashion, home décor, hospitality, art, and cultural storytelling. To mark this milestone anniversary, Jim Thompson has unveiled the Jim Thompson 75th Anniversary collection, created in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), celebrating Thailand’s heritage through a contemporary lens.
At a time when travelers are increasingly seeking deeper connections with local culture, the collection arrives as more than a fashion statement. It reflects a growing movement toward experience-led travel, where craftsmanship, heritage, and storytelling become part of the journey itself.

A New Interpretation of the Spirit of Siam
Built around the concept ENDLESS JOURNEY: 75 YEARS OF A SIAMESE JOURNEY, the collection explores Thailand through the stories, traditions, and landscapes that have shaped both the country and the Jim Thompson brand. The collaboration aligns with TAT’s Healing is the New Luxury philosophy, encouraging travelers to slow down and engage more meaningfully with destinations, communities, and culture.
Rather than focusing solely on famous landmarks, the project highlights cultural experiences that reveal Thailand's creative identity. Key destinations include the Jim Thompson House Museum, the Jim Thompson Heritage Quarter, and the brand's flagship store in Bangkok, offering visitors opportunities to discover Thai silk, design, architecture, and artisanal cuisine in one immersive experience.

A Collection Inspired by Waterways and Weaving Traditions
At the heart of the collection lies a motif called Celebration of Silk. The design draws inspiration from Jim Thompson’s textile archives and traces the brand's origins along Bangkok’s Saen Saep Canal, where the Jim Thompson House stands opposite the historic Baan Krua weaving community.
The pattern unfolds like a visual travelogue across Thailand. Northern Lanna-inspired florals, Isan mudmee silk traditions, and Southern batik influences are woven together through flowing lines that evoke rivers and waterways. The result is a patchwork narrative that celebrates the diversity of Thai craftsmanship while presenting it in a modern, globally relevant form.
The collection demonstrates how heritage textiles can continue to evolve without losing their cultural roots—a balancing act that has defined Jim Thompson's approach for decades.

Fashion for the Modern Traveler
Beyond its storytelling motifs, the anniversary collection embraces contemporary resort and lifestyle dressing. Signature pieces include vibrant silk twill scarves available in multiple sizes and a flowing silk kaftan designed for effortless elegance.
Accessories extend the travel-inspired narrative. The Capri Bag and Travel Clutch combine practicality with colorful textile patterns that reflect Thailand's landscapes and artistic traditions. Lightweight and versatile, they are designed for everything from city exploration to seaside escapes.
Adding a playful touch is the silk Elephant Doll, reimagining one of Thailand’s most recognizable cultural symbols through contemporary craftsmanship. The collectible piece reflects the brand's ability to blend tradition with modern design sensibilities.

Jim Thompson And His Legacy After 75 Years
Few brands have become as closely associated with modern Thailand as Jim Thompson. Founded in 1951 by James H.W. Thompson, the company helped revive Thailand’s silk industry and introduced Thai craftsmanship to international audiences. Today, its influence extends far beyond fashion, shaping how travelers experience Thai culture through design, hospitality, and heritage preservation.
The 75th anniversary collection reflects that evolution. Rather than looking backward, it uses the language of fashion to tell a continuing story about Thailand—one that connects craftsmanship, travel, culture, and contemporary living.
For travelers, style enthusiasts, and cultural explorers alike, the collection offers a reminder that the most meaningful journeys are often woven from the stories, people, and traditions encountered along the way.
