Here’s how to make the most of Negroni Week 2026 in Thailand

For one week every September, one of Italy’s most recognizable cocktails becomes an excuse to explore bars around the world. This year, Negroni Week returns from 21 to 27 September 2026, and Thailand is going considerably bigger than simply putting a few special cocktails on the menu.

Bangkok will welcome internationally acclaimed bartenders for guest shifts, while dedicated bar-hopping routes will take drinkers through Song Wat, Soi Nana in Chinatown and Sathon. Chiang Mai joins the party with its own extensive bar trail and a Negroni experience on the Ping River, while special weekend brunches stretch from Bangkok and Pattaya to Phuket and Koh Samui.

Organized globally by Campari and Imbibe Magazine, Negroni Week also has a charitable purpose. The 2025 edition involved almost 15,000 venues across more than 90 countries and raised US$700,000. Funds from the 2026 campaign will again support Slow Food and projects related to hospitality education, biodiversity, cultural preservation, equity and sustainability.

So, where should you go? Here is an easy guide to Negroni Week 2026 in Thailand.

First, What Is a Negroni?

If this is your first Negroni Week, start with the classic.

The Negroni is traditionally made with equal parts gin, Campari and sweet red vermouth, usually served over ice and garnished with orange. Its origins are traced to Florence around 1919, when Count Camillo Negroni reportedly asked for his Americano cocktail to be strengthened by replacing the soda with gin.

More than a century later, that bittersweet combination has become a bartender favorite and a jumping-off point for seemingly endless variations, which is precisely what makes Negroni Week interesting.

For Cocktail Fans: Catch the International Guest Bartenders

Bangkok gets some serious international bar talent during Negroni Week 2026.

Most of the guest shifts take place at Stella Bar at Capella Bangkok, beginning with Monica Berg on 21 September and Alex Kratena on 22 September. Edinburgh bartender Iain McPherson takes over on 24 September, followed by Erik Lorincz on the final night, 27 September. Each Stella Bar shift runs from 8:00–11:00 PM.

On 26 September, Giorgio Bargiani heads to Aman Lounge at Aman Nai Lert Bangkok for a guest shift from 8:00 PM–midnight.

Berg and Kratena will also open the week's program with an afternoon masterclass, giving Bangkok drinkers an opportunity to hear directly from two prominent figures in the international cocktail industry.

Ba Hao in Soi Nana

For Night Owls: Bar-Hop Through Soi Nana

If one bar sounds too sensible, head to Soi Nana in Chinatown.

The area's Negroni Week route starts at Thirty, which hosts a Campari pop-up and custom cocktails led by Davide Sambo. From there, drinkers can follow an interactive trail through five neighborhood bars, collecting stamps before returning to Thirty to redeem Campari merchandise.

Stops include Ba Hao, Xin Xe Goi, Wallflowers, Tep and Thirty.

It is perhaps the route best suited to visitors who want to experience Bangkok after dark: cocktails mixed with the bars, street life and old shophouses that have made this pocket of Chinatown one of the city's established nightlife neighborhoods.

Le Café des Stagiaires

For Foodies: Eat and Drink Your Way Around Sathon

The Sathon route takes a more food-driven approach.

Rather than concentrating exclusively on cocktail bars, the trail connects restaurants and neighborhood hangouts spanning Italian cooking, European bistro fare and contemporary Thai flavors. The idea is to make an evening of it: dinner somewhere, a Negroni somewhere else and perhaps another stop after that.

Participating venues are Le Café des Stagiaires, Bardo Social Bistro & Bar, Masseria Decimo, Supanniga Sathorn, Giglio Trattoria Fiorentina, Charm Eatery & Bar and ASAI Bangkok Sathorn.

For visitors staying around Silom or Sathon, this is one of the easiest Negroni Week routes to build into dinner plans without committing to a full-scale late-night bar crawl.

For Day Drinkers: Explore Song Wat

Negroni Week does not have to begin after sunset.

Campari has partnered with Hit the Road on a daytime trail through Song Wat, combining cocktails with the historic Bangkok neighborhood's cafés, boutiques, street art and old architecture.

There are 11 stops to explore: Hit The Road, Shunn Songwat, Terroir, Clay Songwat, Tungchae, Skonx, Onest, Kiss Me Doll, Wanjai Cafe House, Khong Suay and Matcha Maru.

This is arguably the route to choose if you want the bar crawl to double as a Bangkok neighborhood day out. Start in the afternoon, explore between drinks and let Song Wat itself become part of the experience.

In Chiang Mai: Make a Night of It

Bangkok is not having all the fun.

Chiang Mai's Negroni Week route brings together an extensive mix of independent cocktail bars, speakeasy-style venues and luxury hotels.

Participating venues include Space Time, Ronnie's, Bray11, Surr Bar, Forbidden Bar, Brine, The Continental Bar, Bar Not Found, Thuub Bar, Gladwell Cocktail Bar, The White Rabbit, The Bottle Club, Great Shot Bar CNX, InterContinental Chiang Mai, Bar SAN, Noir cmi and Meliá Chiang Mai Hotel.

With so many participating venues, this one is better approached as a choose-your-own-adventure rather than an attempt to visit every stop in one night.

For Something Different: Take Your Negroni on the Ping River

Possibly the most leisurely way to celebrate Negroni Week is aboard a boat.

Throughout the week, Anantara Chiang Mai Resort is offering Negroni upgrades for its JAO Ping River Afternoon Tea and Dinner Cruises.

Boats depart from the resort's private Long Muan pier and travel along the Ping River aboard either a traditional teak scorpion-tail boat or luxury pontoon. Guests can pair the journey with classic Negronis and creative variations, choosing between an afternoon tea around golden hour or a multi-course dinner cruise after dark.

Prefer Brunch? There's a Negroni for That Too

Not everyone wants to spend Negroni Week hopping between bars at midnight.

Special weekend brunch experiences paired with Negroni Week cocktails will be available at hotels and resorts across five destinations: Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Pattaya, Phuket and Koh Samui.

Participating venues include Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok, Andaz One Bangkok by Hyatt, Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai, Pattaya Marriott Resort & Spa, Dusit Thani Pattaya, Catch Beach Club, InterContinental Phuket Resort and Centara Reserve Samui.

This is the more relaxed option for anyone who prefers their Negroni alongside a long lunch, resort afternoon or weekend escape.

Look Out for the Negroni Week Maps

There is an art element to this year's celebrations too.

Campari has collaborated with Thai artist Karoon Jeamviriyasatean, better known as ZilluStation, on four illustrated maps covering Negroni Week routes in Song Wat, Sathon, Soi Nana and Chiang Mai.

Known for intricate black-and-white bird's-eye cityscapes drawn in fine ink, the artist has transformed the four drinking neighborhoods into detailed visual maps. The illustrations also appear on limited-edition T-shirts, with proceeds going to charity.

Getting Home: Leave the Car Behind

One particularly practical addition to Negroni Week 2026 is a THB 50 discount on rides home from participating venues, available in limited quantities on a first-come, first-served basis.

Twenty participating Bangkok venues include Turaz, Modern Day Culture, Tony's, Oskar Bistro Bangkok, Lily Fu's, Hemingway, Sheepshank, Raynue, 008 Bar, Club Salva Record Bar, Cielo Sky Bar & Restaurant, NOVA Social Club, HEX BAR, Cento, Joe’s Whisper, Viva Aviv the River, Sorrento Sathorn, Rabbit Hole, Aether Bangkok and Crimson Room.
